Instructions:


1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

2. Add sugar, melted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.

3. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, while stirring to form a dough. Once the dough starts to come together, turn it out onto a floured surface.

4. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Add more flour as needed to prevent sticking, but don't overdo it.

5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

6. Punch down the risen dough to release any air bubbles. Divide the dough into equal portions, usually 8 for standard-sized hamburger buns.

7. Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them.

8. Cover the shaped buns with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes.

9. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

10. Brush the risen buns with the beaten egg to give them a shiny finish. You can also sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds on top for added flavor and appearance.

11. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they turn golden brown on top.
